NOTE: The following Web resource may be helpful for locating maps:
- Direct students to research print and electronic resources to locate information on the impact of the conquistadors (including missionaries). For those without Internet access, the information could be downloaded from the Web site listed above, or other selections could be substituted.
- After students gather data, direct them to create a series of five journal entries from the perspective of a native.
- Evaluation of the journal should include:
• Completeness (Five entries, 150-200 words each)
• Accuracy (Events and facts used are based on factual evidence from the readings.)
• Illustrations
• Mechanics (e.g., grammar, spelling, punctuation)
