- Review content covered to this point in the unit.
- Display “Rise of Russia: Lasting Contributions” class notes from Attachment D on the board or overhead. Discuss each note, checking regularly for student understanding. (NOTE: This may take two sessions).
- Instruct students to analyze information about the Byzantine contributions. For example, assign portions of the two versions of history that Procopius wrote about Theodora, or instruct students to create a mosaic.
- Assign a teacher-selected reading, worksheet, or other reinforcement activity, using available teacher resources.
